Duerrs Loft - Racing Pigeons

Bill Duerrs Flying Pigeons

I started flying pigeons in 1985. The first birds I had were Janssens from John Hoover and the late Mike Metely. I added right away birds from the late Ed Jankowski and Gerry Eurlings. They made a immediate impact on my loft and I won Combine Races right off the bat. I added in 1991 the Houbens, they were imports and also a couple of inbred Jonge Artiest from the loft of Bob Teachout from California. They made an immediate improvement to my loft and I also added some Tourniers from the late George Ponis which came from Dr. Peidget of New Jersey, and they really clicked with the Janssens.

In 1995 I added the Vanhoutte's and they helped me with the distance of my race team and they crossed real well with the Janssens. From 2002 thru 2005 I added birds from Mike Ganus and FFL loft of Florida which were all Mike Ganus line. The lines I added were Mike's Pick and Man of War and Bo Jangles and President also Time Machine, Wally's Girl ,Topo. Aneke, Golden Whitten, Golden Sissi, Sterling, Uno, Triple 005, Celeste, and Solid Gold. In 2007 and 2008 I imported some direct Houben's from Luc Houben and also some Houben's from Eddy Grootjan of Belgium who is really becoming one of the best flyers in Belgium. I also imported a pair out of the South Africa Million Dollar race from Kevin Roosen. I try every year to add new birds and some work out and some don't but you have to keep up with the new strains or you will fall behind.
